Ancient Vision is a spell added by the mod The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal.
This is a very important spell as it is an integral part of many of the puzzles in the game. It alters the nearby environment to the way it was in the ancient past for few seconds. The spell does make some noise and hence should be used carefully while a stealthy playthrough.
