Blood cauldrons are added by Castle Volkihar Redux. The purpose of these items is to create potions of blood to feed vampires on the go. It is like a portable thrall, one drink fills a vampire to the brim.

Five blood cauldrons are added:
- A cauldron in the basement kitchen of Valerica's Tower (at the fireplace).
- A very large cauldron inside the Secret Cave (in the middle of the lower near hagraven Meshalla).
- A blood cauldron in the East Tower Alchemy Bazaar (in a corner next to a bookcase).
There are also blood cauldrons available in two external world homes in Skyrim:
- Windhelm's starter vampire lair in the Abandoned House.
- Solitude's Secret Sewer.

The following are lists of ingredients needed to make blood potions;
- Five human hearts creates five potions of blood.
- Five human flesh creates five potions of blood.
