Objectives[]

  1. Meet with the entourage in the Marsh.
  2. Escort Damian towards Grey Belmor.
  3. Protect the Priest while he burns away the fleshy barrier.
  4. Use the Staff [Cane of the Incandescent] on the Dirennian Well.

Walkthrough[]

You will be encouraged to seek out this quest halfway through the Periphery quest, while the Missionary Reanmonn uses his magic to divine information regarding a clue in the murder at the brothel in Evermore: Dibella's Warmth. After returning to Evermore and with Mortifayne dead, Prince Damian has taken residence as the Lord of Arnima/Raven Spring.

Damned warriors rising from the ancient battlefield.

He is organizing an excursion with the assistance of the Ustase to clear Grey Belmor and its environs of the curse that haunts it. The player will be asked to meet him in the fields just outside to kick off the expedition. You will come upon Prince Damian debating the excursion with Commander Drugo. After chatting with Prince Damian the Priest of The Nine will chat with you - instructing you to ensure you have the proper magical staff for the job.

For this next part you will need the Cane of the Incandescent, found in Umbasir during the Descent of the Eternal Rabbit quest. If for whatever reason you do not have it, the Priest of the Nine will give you the Cane of the Incandescent [Fake] to complete the quest.

What is it? And why is it talking to Prince Damian?

You'll begin the assault. Occasionally you may have to drop behind Prince Damian for him to advance. Eventually you'll come to the well and have to protect the Priest while he performs the magical rites. You'll be then called to use the Cane of the Incandescent on the well. Do so.

In my playthrough, while protecting Damian - you gotta be johnny-on-the-spot zaping the well - if you wait too long, one of the larger skeletons will bash Damian into next week - stalling the quest lol.

Also - every time I attacked the Demon that appeared over the well, the Priest of the Nine turned violent - stalling the quest. I finally figured out I need to let the Priest of the Nine kill the Demon and not touch it.

After that - Damian will have a short chat and you will be transported to the top of the tower at a later time. Speaking to Prince Damian will conclude the quest and put you back on the Periphery quest where you left off: time to see what the Missionary - Reamonn discovered.

Wool For Wolves
ID Journal Entry
Damian requested for me to join him on a short excursion just outside Raven Spring - with the aim of ridding the fields beyond Grey Belmor of the curse that had haunted the land since the age of Mados.
We depart on this pernicious expedition, the ordinary guard are trepid - most begrudging the venture so to not insult the dead Bretons who fell here. Yet this has not stalled the Ustase; the black hounds of Evermore - who most certainly put coin and status above respect. We are banking on the priest's suspicion of a defunct Direnni well, which activated, that can banish the omen that grips this stretch of land. We have to be quick however, as any phantom we strike down will rise just as quickly as it fell.
A fleshy mound covered the well we had sought, the priest had demonstrated his divine ability and melted the infernal thing till it was naught but dust. Upon Damian's call, I fired this Direnni device at the well, activating its nascent power until the foretold barrier had come to destroy this omen. I will console the party on the matters.
